Thoughts on How To Get Started
Always check with your doctor before beginning any exercise program, especially if you are over age 40, or have cardiovascular risk factors such as smoking, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, or a family history of heart disease.

Here are some of my thoughts on how to integrate exercise and fitness into a daily lifestyle choice.  I AM NOT A DOCTOR.  Please check with your doctor before beginning any exercise program.

Why get started:

The saying is true, when you have your health, you have everything.

YOU can do something about getting fit and keeping yourself fit, healthy and strong.

There are many exercise programs, fitness clubs, fitness centers, fitness trainers, and fitness options out there that can help you make a difference in your life.

Get started and get fit!!!!

How to get started:

As with anything in life, start at the beginning and identify what it is you want to achieve.

The achievements we focus on with this website relate to your desire for a healthy and fit lifestyle.  Or we could say,  your goal for a healthy and fit lifestyle.

Several questions to ask yourself as you get started include; (1) Does my age require me to seek a doctors care before I get started.  (2) Do my physical abilities limit me in anyway. (3) What are my favorite and least favorite physical activities to do. (4) What can I spend or afford to spend on physical activities. (5) What are my other life responsibilities that may limit my time on this.

Spend some time thinking about your answers - give your brain muscles alittle workout!!

What part does my age play:

The hard, cold, real fact is that as we get older, our muscles, bones and metabolism change and not for the better.  We are all in the same boat, nobody has a special magic wand that makes them exempt from these changes.

Another real fact is that the majority of doctors and health professionals feel that with good eating habits combined with moderate exercise done on a regular basis we can keep the body (and mind!!) healthy and strong.

As you notice our disclaimers all over this website suggest - consult your doctor if you are over 40 years of age when you plan to start an exercise program.  What if your age is 40 years and under - see your doctor anyways.  Get a good, clean bill of health from your doctor and you will be ahead of the game as you start your exercise program or fitness routine.

A healthy body and lifestyle can be achieved no matter what your age.  And use the wisdom that comes with age to help ensure your fitness goals can be achieved and are right for you.

Do my physical abilities limit me in anyway:
