Warm weather is finally here.  You can spend time outside with family and friends.  And while you are at it,  take your fitness routine outside as well.

Here are some suggestions for activities outside:

(1)  Join one of the clubs we reference in our Fitness Club section.  You will meet alot of great people as well as run, walk and bike outdoors.  The clubs will help you with getting the gear and equipment you need to improve your fitness goals as well as reduce injuries.

(2) Simply take a walk.  Walk around your house.  Go to your local high school and walk around their jogging track.  Go to a zoo, park, lakeshore and walk around and see the sights while you get some exercise.  Remember to get some good walking shoes, your feet will thank you.

(3)  Check out the local park districts and junior colleges we reference in our Fitness Center section.  They offer lots of opportunities to take tennis, golf and other activities outside.  Their costs are low and the health benefits are great.

While you are enjoying the fresh air and sunshine, drink plenty of water, bring bottled water along to keep hydrated, and don't forget your sunscreen.  Even though the dogs days of summer are not upon us yet, the sun is strong.
